When: Jul 18, 2021, 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Every so often on a July Sunday The Rochester Public Library has been able to get Joshua Landis, Granville summer resident, Professor of Middle East Studies at the University of Oklahoma, and internationally known expert on the Middle East to give a talk on the current issues in the news and the background that created the crisis.

This year’s talk is entitled The US in the Middle East: Oil, Regime-Change, and Reassessment. Landis will talk about how US interests have changed toward oil, the War on Terrorism and the region. He will also address how the Biden administration is changing US policy today.

There will be plenty of time for Q&A on today’s headline news.

Our heartfelt appreciation to Pierce Hall Community Center in downtown Rochester for hosting this event. Sunday, July 18th at 4:00.

Make it a day and bring a picnic and stay for the Concert on the Park with Rick Redington and the Luv after the talk.
